Title:
COOLING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3422036
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a cooling water radiating system compact by utilizing the excess cooling capacity of a radiator, radiating the cooling water of an internal combustion engine, for the cooling water radiation of the other water-cooling type cooling system.
CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine 2 is provided with a first radiator 1 with sufficient cooling water radiating capacity during normal operation. A water-cooling type intercooler 3 is provided with a leased second radiator 5. The first and second radiators 4, 5 are provided integrally with a third radiator 6 with an independent cooling water passage. The capacity of the third radiator 6 is added to the capacity of the first radiator 4 and set to such capacity as not to generate overheat. Up to 100°C in cooling water temperature, the third radiator 6 is connected parallel to the second radiator 5 by a switching means 7 so as to enlarge the cooling capacity of the intercooler 3. Over 100°C, the third radiator 6 is connected in parallel to the first radiator 4 to prevent overheat.
