Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling tower which has a good wettability of a radiating plate from the early stage of installing the cooling tower, and which has a good cooling efficiency of cooling water. SOLUTION: Cooling water flows down on the surfaces of two or more radiating plates 21, which are formed of an inexpensive and lightweight vinyl chloride resin, so that this material is easy to repel water right after the formation. Each radiating plate 21 is dried after being soaked in strong calcium hydroxide water solution, before it is placed into the cooling tower 5, so that calcium sticks to the surface of the radiating plates 21. Due to adhesion of this calcium, the wettability of the radiating plates 21 improves, and the cooling water dripping on the radiating plates 21 from the early stage of the installation expands in a wide range to enlarge the surface area of the cooling water which heat exchanges, so that the cooling efficiency of the cooling water is good.
