A motor-driven water pump 14 to circulate cooling water to a heater core 7 for heating is arranged at the cooling system circuit of a water- cooled type engine 1 and a control device 19 is provided to control operation of the heater valve 13 of the heater core 7 for heating and the motor-driven water pump 14. When a cooling water temperature is higher than a set temperature during the stop of the water-cooled engine 1, a signal from a water temperature sensor 17 is received, and the heater valve 13 is opened by the control device 19, and by operating the motor-driven water pump 14, low temperature cooling water in a flow passage on the heater core 7 side for heating is circulated to the water-cooled engine 1.
