This coordinate inputting/detecting device is constituted of plural light-emitting means and plural light-receiving means for detecting the plane or almost plane two-dimensional coordinates of a light-interrupt means according to the presence or absence of the light-interrupt means within the light emitting/receiving optical passage. Also, this coordinate inputting/detecting device is constituted of an image input means for fetching a plane or almost plane coordinate inputting/detecting area, and a means for converting a part of area of information fetched by the picture inputting means into two-dimensional coordinate information. This coordinate inputting/detecting device is provided with a contact pressure detecting means for detecting a contact pressure at coordinate inputting and a signal processing means for processing a coordinate input/detection signal. Then, display density or display area is changed according to the contact pressure at the coordinate input.
