PURPOSE: To accurately point out a reference point in a coordinate correction mode by providing this coordinate input device with a prescribed coordinate input means for performing inputting into a prescribed coordinate position at a coordinate input part for detecting coordinates.

CONSTITUTION: When a cover 14 is closed and a depressing means 28 is depressed by a finger, a projection of the means 28 depresses a point of a tablet 18 which corresponds to prescribed coordinates X1, Y1. The depression is detected by a depression detecting circuit 30 and a depression detection signal is outputted to a coordinate correction data preparing circuit 26. At the time of inputting a closed state detection signal. from a cover close detecting circuit 32 simultaneously with the input of the depression signal, the circuit 30 is turned to the coordinate correction mode. Namely, input coordinates X, Y detected by a coordinate detecting circuit 22 are compared with the prescribed coordinates X1, Y1 and coordinate correction data are prepared. Consequently a reference point can be accurately pointed out in the coordinate correction mode.
