To obtain a copolymer containing ethylene and fluorine such as a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene in a condition in which a product having good processability combined with excellent mechanical characteristics at a high temperature is obtained.
This copolymer containing ethylene and fluorine can include optionally 0.1-10mol% total of one or more comonomer and has 102-105Pa.sec viscosity at 1 sec-1 shearing rate measured at a temperature about 30-50°C higher than the second transition temperature, a flow curve of the figure of shear viscosity/shearing rate having a gradient higher than 200 and calculated as a ratio of the viscosity Pa.sec to the shearing rate sec-1 within the shearing rate range of 1-10sec-1, and the curve has a processable range in the range higher than 10sec-1 shearing rate. Morecover, the polymer preferably has two types molecular weight distributions, i.e., 5-60wt.% low molecular polymer fraction having 1-5×103Pa.sec viscosity and the balance part of high molecular polymer.
