Abstract:
To provide a copolymer latex for paper coating, which is capable of providing a coated paper excellent in dry pick strength, printing gloss, ink set and ink impression.
The copolymer latex for paper coating is obtained by carrying out emulsion polymerization of an aliphatic conjugated diene-based monomer with an ethylene-based unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, a vinyl cyanide monomer and other monomer which is copolymerizable therewith and in measurement of contact angle of a film prepared from the copolymer latex to soybean oil, contact angle after 1 sec is 20 degree and the rate of change from contact angle after 1 sec to contact angle after 4 sec is 10%.
