Abstract:
To provide a copolymer latex having sealing effect and hot water resistance, slight change with time, no adverse effect on the canned contents, to be used for producing sealants having good wrap tightening effect and high sealing effect even if put to high-speed wrap tightening.
This copolymer latex is such that the copolymer is composed of 30-70 pts.wt. of an aliphatic conjugated diene unit and 70-30 pts.wt. of an aromatic vinyl compound unit; wherein the Mooney viscosity (ML1+4, 100°C) of the copolymer constituting the latex is 15-55. This latex has slight viscosity change with time in the form of compound coating, high sealing effect and hot water resistance and squeeze resistance, thus having high performances for sealants.
