To obtain a copolymer which can give a polyalkyl methacrylate plastisol having a lowered viscosity by mixing a monomer component comprising an alkyl (meth)acrylate and/or styrene with methyl (meth)acrylate or ethyl acrylate, a specified hydrophilic compound, a crosslinking agent, and a radically polymerizable monomer.
The monomer component comprises an alkyl acrylate with a 3C or higher alkyl and/or an alkyl methacrylate with a 2C or higher alkyl, and/or styrene. The hydrophilic compound is represented by the formula (wherein R1 is H or methyl; R2 is methylene or -(CH2)n-; n is 2-4; R3 is OH, NH2, or -N(R4)2; and R4 is H, methyl, or ethyl). The copolymer comprises 0-90 mass % monomer component, 10-99 mass % acrylate, 1-20 mass % hydrophilic compound, 0.01-1 mass % crosslinking agent, and 0-20 mass % radically polymerizable monomer.
