Title:
COPPER ALLOY BASE WEAR RESISTANT COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09118945
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a copper alloy base wear resistant composite material with which wear resistance under lubrication is improved and its manufacturing method.

Particles of SiC or short fibers of Al2O3 are used as a reinforcing member and a matrix is a composite material of a copper alloy to which 15-25wt.% Sn, ≤10wt.% Si, ≤5wt.% Mn, ≤5wt.% Zn and ≤2wt.% P are added. In this way, as compared to the case that an aluminum alloy is taken as the matrix, hardness is increased by using the copper alloy, so wear resistance under lubrication is remarkably improved, simultaneously, as compared to practical copper and its alloy which are traditionally stipulated by JIS, the fusing point is lowering suppressed and this material is easily manufactured by low pressure die casting or the like.
