Abstract:
To provide a copper-based catalyst, a manufacturing method of the copper-based catalyst, and an application of the copper-based catalyst as a dehydrogenation catalyst in manufacturing hydroxyketone compounds such as acetoin.SOLUTION: A copper-based catalyst contains copper, at least one kind of auxiliary metal selected from IIA group metals, VIII group non-noble metals, VIB group metals, VIIB group metals, IIB group metals and lanthanum series metals, and an alkali metal, and further contains at least one kind of ketone additive selected from ketone compounds represented by the Formula (II) and ketone compounds represented by the Formula (II'). The copper-based catalyst exhibits high acetoin selectivity when acetoin is manufactured by using the same as a dehydrogenation catalyst. R1-C(=O)-CH(OH)-R2 (II). R1-C(=O)-CH(=O)-R2 (II').
