Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and economically recovering copper from copper sulfide ore, particularly, from copper sulfide ore containing enargite. SOLUTION: Copper sulfide ore containing enargite or the refined ore thereof is brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing silver ions with a concentration of 10 to 2,000 mg/L, pretreatment is performed, after that, pulp is subjected to solid-liquid separation into a solution containing surplus silver ions and the copper sulfide ore after being subjected to the pretreatment, and, the ore after the pretreatment is leached by using iron oxide bacteria. At the time of the leaching, air diluted in such a manner that the concentration of oxygen is controlled to the range of 2 to 20%, preferably, of 5 to 10% is blown into the pulp, and the pH of the pulp is controlled to 1.2 to 1.8. By this method, the leaching ratio of copper is improved, and environmental contamination caused by arsenic can be suppressed.
