PURPOSE: To form an image on plain paper, postcard or plastic film by projecting a reflected or transmitted light from a blackboard on the surface of a microcapsule sheet, and pressing any support with a developer applied, together with the microcapsule sheet.

CONSTITUTION: Supports 10 are separated one by one and sent out to a toner case 12. A developer toner 13 is carried to the surface of an application roller 15 by a feed roller 14, and then is charged with positive polarity by friction. Next, the developer toner 15 is electrostatically attracted by an opposed roller 16 and applied to the support 10. The light emitted from a light source 8 is transmitted through a phototransmissive film sheet 1, reaching the surface of a capsule sheet 21 at a B point through an optical lens 23. Then an image is formed on the sheet 21. If characters are printed on the phototransmissive film sheet 1, the light from the light source 8 is not allowed to pass through the part where characters are printed, so that the microcapsules of the capsule sheet 21 remain uncured. The capsule sheet 21,and the support 18 to which a developer is applied pass through a pressure roller 22, then the microcapsules which are not yet cured by light are broken, and dye precursors of different colors contained in the capsule and the developer react to each other, thus developing colors.
