When the key 104 is depressed in the course of multi-copying, a picture image formation is stopped immediately, and also, if the feed paper state is the first feed paper state, the roll paper is fed until said state becomes the second feed paper state and the roll paper is rewound, and if said state is the third feed paper state, it is fed until the state becomes the fourth state and the roll paper is cut and also rewound, and if the state is the fifth state, a control for returning it to a reader state before a printing key is depressed is executed. In this way, a waste of a paper is minimized, and also, with respect to the next copying instruction, the copying time can be shortened.
