PURPOSE: To examine accurately the relation between the number of copies estimated and the cost of copying, and to use a copying device effectively by displaying the allowable set number of copies, the actual number of copies, and the copy size correspondingly to a card, and grasping at a glance the allowable number of copies, the number of already obtained copies, and the copy size.

CONSTITUTION: Each time copying is performed, a pulse and a signal related to the copy size are outputted from a signal generator 10 and are given to a gate 11, and the gate 11 relates this pulse to a code number read by a reader part 5 to give it to a memory 6. The copy size is recorded also at this time, and consequently, contents of the memory are updated at each copying time. The total number of copies is displayed on a display part 14. The number of copies in each of sizes A4, A3, A5, is displayed on a display device 19. Thus, a user confirms at a glance the allowable number of copies and the number of copies in own department of the user.
