PURPOSE: To improve stability and to save a space by arranging an image sensor for scanning the lower surface of an original platen and receiving the image of an original and an exposing means for exposing the original image received by the image sensor on a plate-like photosensitive body.

CONSTITUTION: The original platen 3 is set up on the upper surface of a copying machine body 1 and constituted of a hard glass body fixed on the body 1. The image sensor 5 is arranged under the original platen 3 so as to be horizontally moved and constituted of an electrostatic charge coupling element to convert the density of the image of the original set up on the original platen 3 into an electric signal. The planer hotosensitive body 2 is arranged on the inside of the body 1 and formed by a flexible material. The exposing device 6 is constituted of a light emitting array to expose the original image received by the image sensor 5 on the photosensitive body 2. Consequently, stability at the copying operation can be improved and the space can be saved, so that the size and thickness of the device can be reduced.
