Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a pneumatic tire excellent in cutting resistance by spirally wrapping a steel filament around the periphery of organic fiber filament and using the resultant cord for reinforcing a rubber article as a carcass material.
CONSTITUTION: This cord for reinforcing a rubber article is constructed by spirally wrapping steel filament at 3.0-15.0mm pitch around the periphery of organic fiber filament having 2000-5000 denier total denier such as polyester or nylon fiber. The cord is used in a carcass part composed of a ply of a radial arrangement cord extending in a toroidal form between a pair of bead parts to form a pneumatic radial tire.
