To provide a cordless device and a method of tooth bleach, allowing a user to bleach teeth while doing domestic duties with both hands or turning over pages of a magazine with both hands to read as the user can freely move around the interior of a room while supporting the whole device with the mouth only without putting a light emission control part, dangerous to a human body, into the mouth.
A mouthpiece-shaped bleaching light irradiating part 101 and the light emission control part 102 are connected to each other with an inflexible light guide wave passage/connection part 103. The tooth bleaching device also has a means 105 for detecting light shading by an intraoral section when the device is put into the mouth. When it is determined that the irradiation part 101 is not in the mouth, the light is quenched or reduced to such an intensity that the eyes are not damaged if directly viewed.
