To propose a small core exhaust mixer having a variable area capable of reducing a noise level of a jet engine in a takeoff.
This invention relates to the core exhaust mixer having the variable area for the turbofan jet engine of the supersonic aircraft. This has a nozzle 24 arranged around a gas generator of the jet engine. The nozzle has a plurality of external air intake apertures 30 existing in a convergence zone between a low temperature flow and a high temperature flow from the gas generator. Lobes 32 movable between two positions of a first position for closing an opening part 30 of the nozzle 24 and a second position different from the first position and extending radially in the nozzle 24 for taking in external air, are installed in these intake apertures. The lobes 32 have an azimuthal component in the same direction in order to give swirling motion to the external air admitted into the convergence zone when the lobes exist in the second position.
