To reliably sample a deep specimen from a shallow specimen by efficiently and accurately sampling a consolidated core specimen, particularly an easy-to-flow unconsolidated core specimen from a predetermined depth without sampling only a core at a shallow level than the arrival depth of an excavation bit.
This core sampling device formed in an inner barrel and used in a wire line system includes a core ring means 16, a position adjusting means 17, and a piston means 18. The core ring means is provided to the front end of the inner barrel. The position adjusting means for adjusting the position of the inner barrel in an outer barrel is provided midway to the inner barrel. The piston means for operating the position adjusting means is provided to the upper stage of the inner barrel. The core ring means includes a bit 1 at the bottom end of the outer barrel, a core lifter 5 at the lower portion of an inner tube 6, and a basket 3 with a bottom opening at the lower portion of the core lifter, and holds a sampled core by pushing out the basket from the inside of the bit downward.
