Abstract:

To provide a core for a tatami floor which has a high mechanical strength, of which warpage does not occur even if it is deformed by a pressure, of which extension and retraction due to changes in humidity and temperature are small, and in which a gap is prevented from being produced due to the deformation by the extension and retraction even if it is used for a long period and a thin tatami using it.

In this core for a tatami floor, a drawn polyolefin resin sheet is placed on at least the upper surface of a wooden fiber board. The resin sheet has an overall drawing magnification of 10 to 40 provided by uniaxially drawing after it is rolled to a rolling magnification of five or more and a weight average molecular weight of 100 to 500 thousands.
