To provide a cork plug obtained by pressing cork particles and preventing taste of the cork from transferring by enveloping the outer surface with a resin material.

A cork plug is obtained by mixing an adhesive with cork particles and press-molding the mixture wherein the surface of the press-molded cork plug 1 is coated with an aqueous polyester resin and the resin is cured to form a thin film 2 of the polyester whereby the surface of the cork plug 1 is given water resistance, heat resistance and alcohol resistance to prevent taste transfer.
