To provide corn for retort processing and a method for producing retort-processed corn, by which performance of retort sterilization is enabled in a short time, the need of complicated blanching treatment is eliminated, and sterilization is securely performed.

The corn for retort processing has a hollow hole 14 formed along the longitudinal direction of the corn through extracting and removing part of corn stem. As a result of this, efficiency of heat transfer to the whole corn is improved, and heating time in blanching treatment and treatment time in retort sterilization are shortened.
