A control system 5 for cornering lamps 3 which controls lighting and extinguishing of the cornering lamps 3 that illuminate an area obliquely ahead of a vehicle 1 includes: an inter-vehicle distance sensor 12 that detects an inter-vehicle distance from another vehicle that is run ahead of the vehicle 1; and cornering lamp control means 33 that lights or extinguishes the cornering lamps 3. The cornering lamp control means 33 lights or extinguishes the cornering lamps 3 under at least one inter-vehicle distance condition included in predetermined conditions, that is, depending on whether the inter-vehicle distance detected by the inter-vehicle distance sensor 12 falls below a pre-set predetermined distance.
