Title:
CULTURE SUBSTRATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3126269
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a culture substrate capable of controlling the linkage of synapses in an arbitrary form and culturing the neurocytes and suitable for the culture of primary neurocytes by coating polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate on a specific substrate and subsequently removing metal oxide regions together with the coated layer.
CONSTITUTION: Polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate is coated on a substrate in which fine regions to be used as cell-adhering regions have been formed from the thin layers of a metal oxide such as aluminum oxide or indium oxide, and the metal oxide regions are subsequently removed together with the coating layer to obtain the objective culture substrate in which cell-non-adhesive fine regions have been formed on the substrate with the polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate. Neurocytes cultured together with glia cells are preferably cultured in the culture medium in a stably controlled form.
