To judge the direction of a positional deviation of a traveling pallet in parking equipment and simplify the correcting control of the positional deviation to prevent the useless movement of the traveling pallet and rapidly correct the deviation.

In mechanical parking equipment in which cars are mounted on pallets and contained, a pair of right and left stop sensors 21, 20 are fitted to a traveling pallet 3 with a specified distance separated from each other, and stop strikers 22, 23 are installed at positions bringing the traveling pallet 3 to a stop. Confirmation strikers 24, 25 are separately installed with a distance at the front stage of the stop strikers 22, 23 so that the distance between the outsides of the stop strikers 22, 23 and confirmation strikers 24, 25 becomes equal to the distance between the insides of the pair of right and left stop sensors 21, 20. The direction of the positional deviation of the traveling pallet 3 is judged on the basis of the detected signals of the stop sensors 21, 20 and a control returning the traveling pallet 3 to an appropriate position and stopping it is provided.
