PURPOSE: To eliminate the noises produced at a defective picture element part by using an address pulse read out of a memory to control the number of reset pulses mixed into the output signal of the defective picture element from a reset electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A CCD (element) having a picture defect has an output of an especially high level since the dark current is extraordinarily large at a defective picture element part. An address pulse is produced only to the defective element. For this address pulse, the position on an element 1 is stored previously by an address memory 7. The output of the memory 7 is converted into a pulse having a clock cycle of the element 1 by an interface circuit 8. Then an address pulse of the position of the defective picture element is produced by a decoder 9. An amplitude control circuit 10 produces a pulse amplitude equivalent to an offset component of the defective picture element. Then the address pulse is applied to a low level voltage control terminal of a reset pulse driver 11. Thus the number of reset pulses mixed into the output signal of the CCD is controlled. Then the noises produced at a defective picture element part can be deleted.
