PURPOSE: To enable the correction of a trouble generated within an electronic device, such as VTR, without modifying the device itself when this trouble is discovered after production.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 12 which can communicate with a peripheral apparatus 2a via a communication format 3a is included in a VTR body 1a. Data for correction is transmitted from the peripheral apparatus 2a to the microcomputer 12 and the correction data is stored into an EEPROM 13 which is a non-volatile memory. The microcomputer 12 receives this correction data and executes the processing of correcting the trouble of a circuit 14. The correct data is used by using the correction data and substituting this data for the data of the bug of a ROM if, for example the circuit 14 is the ROM and when the bug thereof is discovered.
