Abstract:
To provide a corrosion detection device and a corrosion detection method which can appropriately detect corrosive environment due to combustion exhaust gas in an exhaust gas passage through which the combustion exhaust gas passes.SOLUTION: A corrosion detection device for detecting the degree of corrosion due to combustion exhaust gas in an exhaust gas passage through which the combustion exhaust gas passes comprises: a corrosion sensor comprising a hollow corrosion sensor body, and an electrode unit prepared on the external surface of the corrosion sensor body; an ashes thickness measuring instrument which measures the thickness of ashes contained in the combustion exhaust gas adhering to the electrode unit; an ash eliminator which eliminates the ashes adhering to the electrode unit; and a controller which controls operation of the ash eliminator. The controller actuates the ash eliminator, when the thickness of the ashes adhering to the electrode unit exceeds a predetermined threshold of more than 0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
