To obtain a corrosion inhibitor for concrete or mortar for preventing corrosion of concrete structures such as sewerage facilities due to sulfuric acid produced by the action of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria and provide a method for preventing corrosion of concrete or mortar by using the inhibitor.
This method for preventing corrosion of concrete or mortar comprises including a corrosion inhibitor containing a mixture of a metal complex such as a phthalocyanine compound, an azomethine metal complex or a β-diketone-based metal complex with at least one kind of metal selected from a group comprising titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, nickel, copper, zinc, molybdenum, palladium, silver, indium, tin, platinum and lea and/or its metal oxide as an active ingredient. The method can effectively prevent corrosion of concrete or mortar over a long time without polluting water quality and is effective for prevention of corrosion of concrete structures or mortal structures such as sewerage facilities.
