Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an efficient and economical corrosion protecting method of a ballast tank of a ship.
CONSTITUTION: In a corrosion protecting method where a steel structure part in a ballast tank is corrosion protected by filling the inert gas in a space part in the ballast tank of a ship, the inner wall surface of the ballast tank is covered by the film of 10-50μm in dry film thickness consisting of the rust-proof paint containing ≥5wt.% rust-proof paint. The sufficient corrosion protecting performance is demonstrated only by covering the surface of the regular steel member constituting the ballast tank with the relatively thin rustproof film, and the usage of the rustproof paint can be reduced.
