Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion protecting method applicable to a titanium-sheet-clad steel plate requiring cutback of cladding material, haying superior workability and work efficiency, and excellent in long-term durability and also to provide a corrosion protected steel structure.
SOLUTION: This method comprises the following stages: (1) a stage where respective cladding base materials 4 of titanium clad steel plates 2 are welded to a steel structure 1; (2) a stage where a titanium clad steel piece 10 is allowed to adhere to the lining edges adjoining each other and a cladding base material 4 on the periphery, other than the resultant adhesion surface, of the titanium clad steel piece 10 is welded to the steel structure 1; (3) a stage where a spacing between the titanium clad steel plates adjoining each other and also a region from the spacing to the surface of the titanium clad steel piece on the extension line of the spacing are covered with a titanium backplate 7 and the periphery of the backplate 7 is welded; (4) a stage where the jointed part of the above adhesion surface is sealed by welding. Moreover, prior to the above welding of the cladding base material 4 to the steel structure 1, a cladding material 3 in the vicinity of a weld zone is removed, and further, a pure Ag filler material is used for sealing of the jointed part of the adhesion surface.
