PURPOSE: To make it possible to apply a corrosion protective agent easily on the whole surface of a tank bottom plate by a method wherein when corrosion protection is given to a tank bottom plate by injecting a corrosion protective agent in a gap between the tank bottom plate and a tank foundation, the filling condition is detected by measuring the attenuation of ultrasonic reflective waves by a sensor which is placed on the inner surface of the tank bottom plate.
CONSTITUTION: On a foundation 1, a tank 2 is installed, and a corrosion protective agent is injected in a gap between a tank bottom plate 3 and the surface layer of the foundation. For the injection, an injecting pipe 4 which is connected to an airless application machine 5 is made to get in the foundation 1, and the tip of the injection pipe 4 is made to come out in the gap as an injection port to do the injection. During the injection, a sensor 6 which measures ultrasonic reflective waves is placed on the bottom plate in the tank, and the injection is controlled by detecting the filling condition by measuring the attenuation of the ultrasonic reflective waves. This is a method which utilizes a fact that attenuation rate of the reflective waves becomes larger when the corrosion protective agent is applied on the tank bottom plate 3, and the detection can be easily performed by having measured the reflectance prior to the injection. In this case, by changing the position of the sensor 6 in order, an applied part and not applied part can be easily discriminated.
