Abstract:

PURPOSE: The title composition having improved corrosion and flame resistance, and properties at high temperatures, comprising a tris(epoxypropyl)isocyanurate ester of an unsaturated acid, a polymerizable monomer, a hardener, and a filler.

CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 30W70 parts by wt. of a tris(epoxypropyl)isocyanurate ester of an unsaturated acid, e.g. acrylic or methacrylic acid, (B) 70W30 parts by wt. of a polymerizable monomer, e.g. methyl methacrylate or propyl acrylate, (C) 0.5W5 parts by wt. of a hardener, (D) 5W30 part by wt. of glass flakes about 3 μ thick and 3W0.4mm in diameter, prepared from alkali-free glass, (E) a mixture of 3W15 parts by wt. of red phoxphorus powder of particle size about 10μ, obtained by pulverizing the phosphorus of 99.9% purity, and 200W50 parts by wt. of hydrated alumina, (F) 10W900 parts by wt. of a fibrous material, and (G) 10W900 parts by wt. of a filler.
