Title:
CORROSION-RESISTANT ZIRCONIUM ALLOY ANY NUCLEAR FUEL COMPOSITE CLADDING TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02263943
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the corrosion-resistant zirconium alloy having excellent corrosion resistance, particularly nodular corrosion resistance by specifying the compsn. constituted of Ni, Fe, Sn, O and Zr.

CONSTITUTION: The corrosion-resistant zirconium alloy is constituted of, by weight, 0.1 to 5% of at least one kind of Ni and Fe (for the single addition of Fe, 0.2 to 5% is regulated), >0.5 to <1.0% Sn and 0.12 to 0.3% O, according to necessary, furthermore constituted of 0.05 to 3% of at least one kind among Nb, Mo, W, V, Te, Pd and Ta and the balance substantial Zr and in which nodular corrosion is hard to generate particularly under the severe condition of neutron irradiation. By providing the internal surface of a Zr alloy tube using this alloy with a linear layer of pure Zr, the nuclear fuel composite cladding tube having increased PCI resistance and in which the deterioration of the Zr alloy caused by FP gas generated by nuclear reaction is furthermore prevented can be obtd.
