Title:
CORROSION-RESISTANT ZIRCONIUM ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP01111837
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a Zr alloy having excellent corrosion resistance by adding specific amounts of Ni, Fe, Sn and Cr and at least one kind among rare earth elements to Zr.

CONSTITUTION: The Zr alloy contg., by weight, <5.0% Ni, <5.0% Fe, <1.5% Sn, <1.0% Cr and 0.001W3.0% total of at least one kind among Y, Sc, La, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu with the balance Zr is melted and refined. Said ingot is subjected to forging, hot extruding and quenching and is thereafter repeatedly cold rolled and annealed to work into a thin plate. The Zr alloy plate having excellent corrosion resistance, particularly having excellent nodular corrosion resistance can be obtd.
