PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic composition, improved in easiness of disentangling and softness and suppleness of hair without making the hair lank even after repeated use.
CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic composition contains (A) at least one quaternary polyammonium polymer, comprising a recurring unit corresponding to the formula {(p) is 1-6; D may not exist or can represent a group (CH2)r-CO [(r) is 4 or 7]; X is an anion derived from an inorganic acid or an organic acid} and having <100,000 molecular mass and (B) at least one polymer containing 70-90 wt.% diallyldialkylammonium unit containing a 1-18C alkyl group and 30-10 wt.% acrylic or methacrylic unit, preferably a copolymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride or diallyldiethylammonium chloride and acrylic acid at a ratio causing synergistic activities [at (0.1:1) to (3:1) ratio expressed in terms of weight ratio]. The amounts of both the formulated ingredients are especially preferably 0.1-3 wt.% ingredient A and 0.2-6 wt.% ingredient B.
