To provide a skin-care or cosmetic composition, without containing lanolin nor its derivative.
The skin-care or cosmetic composition contains at least one kind of ester which is formed by esterifying at least one pendant-type hydroxy or hydroxy positioned at a chain end of a hydroxylated aliphatic compound with an aromatic acid and is liquid at ambient temperature. The composition contains a pasty compound other than the lanolin and one of its derivatives, and therefore makes it possible to obtain a deposit having slipperiness, gloss, and comfortableness on a keratinous substance. A hyroxylated fatty acid including ricinoleic acid, hydroxystearic acid, and an ester thereof is especially used as the hydroxylated aliphatic compound. The composition advantageously contains the pasty compound which has a hardness of 0.001-0.5 MPa, preferably 0.002-0.4 MPa at 25°C, and contains a component existing as a liquid at 23°C in an amount of 9-97 wt%.
