Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a capsule-containing cosmetic stable in a wide pH range, wide in the choices of treating conditions and substances capable of coexisting, and enabling the optimal designs including performance and convenience as the cosmetic by including barium alginate-based capsules.
SOLUTION: This cosmetic containing capsules comprises (B) an outer liquid comprising a 0.1-2 wt.% carboxyvinyl polymer aqueous solution controlled to a pH of 4-11 with potassium hydroxide and (A) barium alginate-based capsules contained in the outer liquid B. The capsules A are shaped into spherical forms having a granule diameter of about 0.1-20 mm with an alginic salt and contain at least a part of the alginic salt existing on the outer and inner surface sides of the spherical forms in the form of a polyvalent metal salt containing the barium salt as an essential component. The component A is produced e.g. by bringing aqueous liquid drops containing sodium alginate and a moisturizing agent as active components into contact with an aqueous solution containing barium dichloride.
