To obtain the subject composition having an increased moisture keeping effect or plasticizing effect, functioning as a waterproof film-forming agent by including a natural or recombinant arachnida silk protein or its analogue.
This composition contains a natural or recombinant arachnida silk protein or its analogue. Preferably the protein contains a repeating unit of an amino acid of the formula [(XGG)w(XGA)(GXG)x(AGA)y(G)zAG]p (X is tyrosine or glutamine; G is glycine; A is alanine; (w) is 2 or 3; (x) is 1-3; (y) is 5-7; (z) is 1 or 2; (p) is a number to make the protein have 10-400 kDa molecular weight). The recombinant protein is preferably produced by a transformed procaryote or euceryote containing a cDNA encoding a arachnida silk protein, its fragment or analogue. The amount of the arachnida silk protein is preferably 10-3 to 15 wt.% based on the total weight of the objective composition.
