To provide a cosmetic for hair having excellent maintainability of hairdressing force and luster without greasiness.

The cosmetic for hair is obtained by including a (10-30C)alkylacrylate and methacrylate copolymer and/or its salt. Furthermore, an amphoteric polymer is preferably contained as a hairdressing ingredient. A methacrylic acid-N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate-acetone acrylamide copolymer can preferably be exemplified as the amphoteric polymer. In addition, a wax is preferably contained. A saturated higher alcohol is preferred as the wax and the 1-5 wt.% content is preferably exemplified.
