PURPOSE: To obtain a hair-growing agent and hair cosmetic having excellent hair-growing effect and high safety by using pear pip essence having excellent trichogenic action and gray hair improving action as a component.
CONSTITUTION: This hair-growing agent contains pear pip essence produced by pressing pear pips or extracting the pips with an organic solvent. The cosmetic for hair contains the hair-growing agent. It is effective to carry out the pressing of the pear pips preferably by using a presser under heating. The extraction of pear pips is performed by crushing the pips and adding 1-100 times amount of an organic solvent to the pips. The organic solvent is methanol, ethanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, etc. The cosmetic for hair is prepared by using the pear pip essence as a hair-growing agent and compounding the agent to a cosmetic base in an amount of 0.01-10wt.% based on the total cosmetic. The hair cosmetic can be used e.g. in the form of hair tonic, shampoo, rinse, pomade, hair lotion, hair cream or hair treatment.
