Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the compression efficiency in the case of compressing a halftone image.
SOLUTION: Image dots read by an image sensor 8 are generated as image data. When 10 consecutive '0s' image dots are generated among the image dots, a '1' dot is added after the 10 consecutive dots. In the case of receiving the generated and sent image data, when the dot '1' is detected in succession to the 10 consecutive '0s' image dots, the dot '1' is eliminated. In this case, when the halftone image is compressed, the compression efficiency is improved and the compressed data are communicated.
