Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic containing an extract of Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz and capable of preventing the aging of skin and the fatigue of hair.
SOLUTION: Raw or dried Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz, the total grass, each of leaves, stems, branches and roots or an appropriate combination of at least two of them, is extracted with water and/or an organic solvent (e.g., acetone) to obtain an extract. Further, a mixture of, Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz with REISI (fruit body of Ganoderma lucidum) or Houttuynia cordata is optionally used as the raw material for the solvent extraction. In this case, the mixing ratio of REISI or Houttuynia cordata is 1-40wt.% based on Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz. The solvent extract of Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz or a mixture of Rhinacanthus nasuta (L.) Kurz with REISI or Houttuynia cordata is compounded to a cosmetic as an active component. The compounding ratio is 0.001-30wt.% in the case of the shape of an extraction liquid and 0.00001-10wt.% in the case of the shape of fine powder. The compounded cosmetic can be formulated into a milky lotion, a lotion, a soap, a cream, a pack, a powder, a foundation, an essence, a shampoo, a rinse, a hair tonic, a hair liquid, a hair spray, etc.
