Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic containing the polysaccharide of Tamarindus indica seeds and a saccharide and/or a polyhydric alcohol, high in safety and excellent in use touch, even when a moisturizing agent is compounded in a large amount.
SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains (A) 0.005-10wt.% of a Tamarindus indica seed polysaccharide (partial hydrolyzate) which is the main ingredient of the seeds of a leguminous plant, Tamarindus indica, yielded in the tropical regions and which has a structure comprising a β-1,4-glucan main chain and xylose and galactose bound to the main chain as side chains, (B) a saccharide and/or a polyhydric alcohol as moisturizing agents in an A:B weight ratio of 1:50 to 5:1, and, if necessary, (C) various kinds of components useful for cosmetics, quasi-medicines and medicines. The cosmetics include basic cosmetics such as skin lotions and milky lotions, make-up cosmetics such as lip sticks and eye shadows, cleansing agents such face-cleansing agents and shampoos, and hair cosmetics such as hair dyes.
