PURPOSE: To provide a cosmetic effective to prevent the oxidative degradation of the humectant component such as acidic mucopolysaccharide, etc. which is a component of living body and to prevent the depolymerization of acidic mucopolysaccharide in the skin, by adding uric acid or its salt to the cosmetic components.
CONSTITUTION: The objective cosmetic is produced by compounding (A) a cosmetic component for the purpose of moisture-retaining and prevention of dermatic aging with (B) 0.01W1.0wt% uric acid or its salt (e.g. uric acid, sodium urate, potassium urate, sodium hydrogen urate, etc.) and if necessary (C) 0.01W5wt% acidic mucopolysaccharide (e.g. hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, etc.).
EFFECT: Effective to give moderate moistness and springiness constantly to the skin.
