To quickly manufacture a great variety of applicators without producing expensive casting molds.
A cosmetic applicator (1), typically mascara, comprises application means (4) comprising: an axial core (40) which is integrated with an axial rod (3) in the lower part (31) thereof: and a bundle (41) of assemblies of N pieces of elements which is provided with a hole (50) allowing the axial core to pass therethrough, to thereby cooperate with the axial core. The elements are rotational asymmetrical elements E as a whole, and the axial core and an assembly of the elements E cooperate with means that determines the angular direction of an element E (5) relative to an axial mark, in a horizontal plane (11) perpendicular to the axial mark (10). Consequently, each element Ei is integrated with the axial core while rotating, and is provided with a prescribed angular direction αi relative to the axial core.
