Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cotelomer comprising a vinylidenefluoride unit and not less than a specific amount of hexafluoropropene unit, and contg. a high ratio of the hexafluoropropene unit.
CONSTITUTION: This cotelomer comprises a vinylidenefluoride(VDF) unit of formula I and hexafluoropropene(HFP) unit of formula II, and the HFP unit is not less than 33% of the total of the VDF unit and the HFP unit, and the cotelomer is obtd. by reacting a bromine geminal telogen (A) of formula III (wherein R and R' are each F or 1-8C perfluorinated alkyl), e.g. dibromodifluoromethane or 1,1-dibromotetrafluorobutane with 1,1-difluoroethane (B), and hexafluoropropene (C) in the mol. ratio of each component A:B:C being (1-5):1:1-(1-5):1:5.
