PURPOSE: To prepare a cotton bale reduced in changes in water content, moisture absorbability and moisture releasability of ginned cotton against changes in the temperature and humidity of environment by bonding a specific polyorganosiloxane in a specified amount to the ginned cotton to be compression-packed and packaged.
CONSTITUTION: An emulsion containing a polyorganosiloxane of formula I [A and B are bonded to each other in a block bond state, etc.; A is dimethylsiloxane unit of formula II; B is modified siloxane unit of formula III or IV (X, Y are 2-18C alkyl, aromatic hydrocarbon, organic group selected from groups of formulas V-VIII, etc., or H; R3 is H, 1-8C alkyl, alkanoyl, R4, R6 are 1-3C alkyl, R5 is H, 1-3C alkyl; e, f, h, j are 2,3; k is 0-3; R1 is H, methyl); T1, T2 are H or polysiloxane end group of formula IX, X, etc., (R2 is 1-3C alkyl; d is 0-3); a is 10-2000; b is 0; b≤2a] is bonded to ginned cotton in an amount of 0.03-2wt.% followed by compression-packed coated ginned cotton reduced in the change of water content against the changes in environment to provide a cotton bale.
