The cotton swab includes a shaft body 2 and a fiber massive part 3 by which fibers are wound and bonded at one end or both ends of the shaft body 2, and the fiber massive part 3 is provided partially with a reduced diameter part 4 compressed to the outer circumferential surface of the shaft body 2. The fiber massive part 3 is formed in the order of a small fiber massive part 5, the reduced diameter part 4 and a large fiber massive part 6 to the distal end direction of the shaft body 2 along the axial direction of the shaft body 2, and it is preferable that the outer edge corner part of an end face at one end or both ends of the shaft body is chamfered or formed in a curved surface shape.
